Stay Focused
If you're like us, you're probably guilty of occasionally wasting time on Facebook and other social sites when you should be doing something more important. Stay Focused is a Chrome extension designed to help you stop wasting time on those sites and get your work done. With Stay Focused installed you can set a time limit for yourself on the sites that you tend to waste time on. Once you've used up your self-allotted time on those sites you won't be able to revisit them in that browser until the next day (or other time you select).
How stressed are you?
Stress is part of everyday life and can be beneficial. But high levels over a long period can be seriously bad for our health.
The following test has been created with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy for National Stress Awareness Day. It has been designed to help you spot symptoms of stress and find out how well you are coping with the pressure of everyday life.
Scoring: never - 0, almost never - 1, sometimes - 2, often - 3 and very often - 4.

BASE Stress App
Brookvale CAMHS has created a new free self-help app called BASE that has been designed to help young people manage their stress, anxiety and depression. The app allows you to write diary entries which help you keep track of when your stress and anxiety might be at its best or worst. This will help you understand how to manage your emotions.
The app also provides handy tips on how to calm down and relax. It even produces entry reports which shows the emotions you feel the most. The app logs this data into a 7 day graph so you can see how much your mood changes over a week!BASE is used to help you note down your feelings so you can understand when your stress and anxiety is at its worse, instead of relying on memory.

Tips on making a revision timetable:
- When compiling a schedule try to be as realistic as possible. Do not try to do too much in your day with a timetable that you have no real chance of completing.
- Make a list of subjects that you need to revise for between now and your exams.
- Work out which subjects have the most content that needs to be revised.
- Concentrate on those specific topics or modules that you have the most difficulty with.
- Break down major revision subjects into smaller parts; this can help you make your studying more precise.
- Ensure that you include break times during the day, these are important to help you unwind and to make sure you don't burn yourself out.
- Work out when you 'study best', for instance some people are able to concentrate better in the morning. Then use these times to study those topics that require the most effort and energy.
- Do not leave your most difficult or hardest subjects till the end of the day. Instead try to get these out of the way early on.
- After completing a revision period cross it off from your timetable. This will help you feel a sense of achievement.
- At the end of each week assess your performance and change your plans accordingly.
- Consider using different coloured pens to highlight specific classes or rank subjects according to importance. However if you feel you may be changing things around then use a simple pencil.
- Keep your timetable flexible and be ready to change it if circumstances change. Try not to spend the whole day revising one subject.
- Most experts suggest studying in slots of 40 minutes and then taking a break before your next session.
